Job Summary

The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Supply Chain Services provides executive-level strategic leadership and operational oversight across all functions of the Supply Chain Services department, including Supply Chain Operations and Logistics, Strategic Sourcing and Contracting, and Supply Chain Analytics. The AVP is accountable for developing and executing a comprehensive supply chain strategy that drives cost savings, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes aligned with the organization's mission and strategic plan. This role serves as a senior member of the Supply Chain leadership team and partners closely with clinical, operational, and financial leaders across Centralus Health. The AVP sets the strategic direction for the department and establishing short and long-term goals, performance objectives, and governance standards for the department in its entirety.


Job Functions

  • Develop, communicate, and execute a comprehensive multi-year supply chain strategy aligned with the Centralus Health strategic plan that optimizes supply chain processes and supports high-quality patient care.
  • Provide executive oversight of centralized distribution centers, logistics operations, procurement, warehousing, courier services, inventory control, and freight management.
  • Provide executive oversight of strategic sourcing, contracting, and purchasing activities aligned with the organization's business terms and conditions.
  • Direct the organization's supply chain analytics function to ensure robust data governance, KPI development, performance dashboards, SC intelligence capabilities.
  • Lead annual budget projections and establish and drive the achievement of annual cost savings goals and multi-year expense reduction strategies for the organization. Report on the status/outcomes of continuous financial improvement initiatives through communication with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain senior leaders and their teams to achieve high performance, professional growth, and job satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), and internal stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to lead standardization initiatives that support high quality care, product rationalization, and best practices.
  • Implement continuous process improvement mindset to drive operational efficiencies across all supply chain functions.
  • Drafts, edits, and produces communication plans, reports, briefings, presentations, project statuses, and responses for use by senior management, the executive team, and/or key stakeholders; makes recommendations for improvement and appropriate parties based upon conclusions.
  • Leverages data analytics tools and supply chain technology platforms to create new dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analyses that support executive decision making.
  • Supports the success of Centralus Health by effectively contributing to and utilizing national strategies and capabilities, actively sharing new learning and innovation, and ensuring business practices are consistent with Centralus Health standards.

Success Factors

  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare supply chain operations, including distribution, procurement, contracting, logistics, and analytics.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and competing priorities across functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical and operational results into actionable executive level recommendations.
  • Understanding of electronic medical record (EMR) technology and its integration with supply chain systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, including experience partnering with clinicians, physicians, and executive leadership.
  • Track record of building, mentoring, retaining high performing, diverse leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and achieve enterprise wide cost savings goals

Education / Experience Qualifications

Education

  • Required:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred:Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or MS in Supply Chain/Operations) strongly preferred for a role of this scope and organizational influence.

Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of ten (10) yearsof progressive supply chain leadership experience, including at least five (5) years in an executive or senior leadership capacity overseeing directors or senior directors.
  • Demonstrated leadership across multiple supply chain functional areas, including Strategic Sourcing, Contracting, Operations, Logistics, and Analytics.
  • Proven experience developing and executing multi-year strategic planswithin complex, matrixed organizations, inclusive of financial management, budgeting, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Experience with ERP systemsand process improvement methodologies within complex operational environments.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Workday SCM/Financials, Infor Lawson, EPIC, or similar healthcare financial platforms.
  • Knowledge of healthcare specific domains including managed care, integrated delivery systems, regulatory requirements, and medical billing.
  • Proficiency in data management, reporting applications, and supply chain analytics tools.

Strong executive level communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present to Board level leadership.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to remain at a workstation and move around the workspace as needed to complete job tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold.
