The Inter-organizational Education Manager will oversee the development of an inter-organizational
collaboration between Cayuga Health System and regional educational entities. This collaboration will
harmonize clinical and didactic training across institutions and facilitate the development and utilization of
educators at CHS that can support educational content delivery at regional organizations.
This individual will identify partners' programmatic needs and coordinate program-to-program support.
This may require coordinating the timing and seasonality of program offerings to deconflict programs
competing for scarce resources (such as clinical space and faculty). They will identify areas of resource
scarcity and excess across partners and facilitate efficient sharing of resources, inter-institutional
cooperation, and purposefulness of educational offerings.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee training of nurses into clinical nurse and education specialists
  • Evaluates performance of Education Specialist
  • Acts as a liaison between CHS and partners to identify resource needs including space, equipment,
    clinical access, and faculty
  • Performs outreach to expand on the number of educational partners in the program
  • Facilitates collaborative development of processes to identify candidates to sponsor for additional
    training and development
  • Identifies additional training opportunities
  • Prepares reports to characterize program achievements and barriers
  • Facilitates requirement of additional nurses who are interested in clinical nurse and training specialist
    pathway
  • Works with other CHS departments to coordinate schedules that facilitate training success without
    harming patient care and safety

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of healthcare experience
  • Clinical background is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with staff and hospital leaders

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master's Degree
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Registered Nurse license

Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard).
  • May require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions
    and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on
    lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers).
  • Sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary.
  • Must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.

Location and Shift Requirements:

  • Hybrid: Onsite at various locations within the region as well as remote work

Compensation Disclosure:

  • $18.53 per hour per diem
