Job Title: Nursing Assistant Team Lead (PMRU)
Reports To: Unit Manager (PMRU)
Purpose:
A Team Leader ensures implementation and maintenance of policy and procedures, core measures, regulatory compliance, and coaching for outstanding care of patients.
Job Summary:
A Team Leader is a nursing assistant who provides staff support, and works in conjunction with the Unit Manager and Unit Director. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the Team Leader works to improve patient care and experience through effective staff communication, observation, and measurement of specific interventions/practices and their associated outcomes.
The Team Leader plays a pivotal role in fostering relationships with staff for retention, recruitment, mentoring, and patient and staff satisfaction. The Team Leader fosters teamwork and collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary team.
The Team Leader plays a significant role in assisting the nurse manager in achieving clinical and financial goals along with management of human/material resources as delegated. The Team Leader will work in staffing while supporting the orientation and development of other nursing assistants.
Job Responsibilities:

- Real-time staff education, mentoring, and coaching of staff in relation to care, communication, and unit operations with the purpose of supporting excellent patient care.
- Customer service in line with organizational expectations and obtain organizational goals including fostering team work and collaboration.
- Serve as a representative and active agent by engagement with furthering the nursing assistant profession at CMC.
- Attends Nursing Assistant Task Force and other designated guidance communication platforms; coordinates communication with the team
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
- Flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities not noted above.
Requirements:
- Experience: 1 year of nursing assistant experience. Preferred leadership experience in any field
- Certification: BLS
- Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.
